Classification of calendars
There are three types of calendars: lunar calendar, solar calendar and lunisolar calendar.

1. The lunar calendar is one of the traditional Chinese calendars and the first calendar of ancient countries. The calendar based on the law of apparent motion of the moon is called "Lunar Calendar", also known as "Lunar Calendar", "Yin Calendar", "Ancient Calendar", "Huang Calendar", "Xia Calendar" and "Old Calendar".

The true lunar calendar is the Islamic calendar (Hijri). That is, twelve lunar months make up a year, regardless of seasonal changes. The lunar calendar is mainly used to guide their religious festivals, etc.

Second, the solar calendar is a calendar based on the movement cycle of the earth's revolution around the sun, also known as the solar calendar. The Gregorian calendar is formulated according to the operating cycle of the direct sun point. The average calendar year is a tropical year. There are two types of calendar years, one is a normal year and the other is a leap year. A leap year and a normal year are only one day away from each other.

The Gregorian calendar, which is commonly used in the world, is the most familiar solar calendar. This calendar is saturated with civilizations created by mankind for thousands of years, learned by the ancient Romans from the Egyptians, and spread around the world with the expansion of the Roman Empire and the rise of Christianity.

3. The lunisolar calendar refers to a calendar in astronomy that takes into account the relationship between the sun, the moon and the earth. The English scientific name is lunisolar calendar. The lunisolar calendar takes the moon around the earth as one month, but the intercalary month is set so that the average number of days in a year is consistent with the number of days in the tropical year. Therefore, this calendar is consistent with the phases of the moon and the periodic motion of the earth around the sun.
